The San Jose Sharks are calling on all fans to help keep our community clean. Whether you’re flying solo or joining a local organization, every piece of litter picked up makes a massive difference for our neighborhood. Put Trash in the Bin for the Win!

Clean streets = clean creeks. From cleanups to trail restoration to clearing out storm drains, there are endless ways to prevent water pollution. Join your neighbors in caring for our streets and creeks to ensure a healthy environment for the people, plants, and animals that call the South Bay home.

Want to do more? From gardening to car care to rain barrels and more, everyday actions you take at home add up to a healthier community. Browse our Solutions page and pick at least one thing you can do this year to prevent stormwater pollution!

Adopt a spot and keep public spaces clean, on your own schedule!

Adopt a local creek and clean it at least twice every year.

Adopt a storm drain near your home, spend just 30 minutes a month keeping it clean, and help protect our creeks and Bay.

Discover cleanup events or join monthly trail days, helping staff maintain more than 350 miles of County Park trails.

Can’t make it to a cleanup event? Coastal Cleanup Day is every day. Do a self-guided cleanup using the free Clean Swell App from the Ocean Conservancy to tally everything you pick up. Your efforts will beautify your neighborhood and contribute to litter reduction research.

Spread the Word to Your Community

Help more people understand the importance of preventing stormwater pollution! Studies have shown that people are more likely to try a new practice when they learn about it from someone they trust.

Follow our social media and share posts. Watershed Watch is on Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) Comment and engage!
Talk to neighbors on your street, point out the storm drain and let them know it connects directly to creeks, rivers, and the Bay. Ask them kindly not to dump anything.
